Updating Commento?

Could we get an update packaged for Commento? 1.8 is out now and we're on 1.6.2

@echokos We are waiting on a response for https://gitlab.com/commento/commento/-/merge_requests/88 . @nebulon made a patch to fix SMTP delivery about a year ago, so we want that merged so it works out of the box with the Cloudron package.

Commento seems to be a lethargic project
what about offering an alternative such as ISSO or HashOver

@ianhyzy Unfortunately, there has been no reponse from upstream maintainer. I am not entirely sure if it's developed actively.

I've reworked my initial merge request now and with this we can update the commento app now.
We will wait a bit for feedback on the merge request.

I've published a new app package using that email related patch now, since also the previous package contained a custom patch, so we are in the same situation in that regard, only now with a finally updated base version.
