    Hello,
    Is it possible to switch to Beta version?
    the current version is 2.5, but I want to update to 2.6 Beta, so I will be able to migrate my discussion board from Digital Ocean to cloudron.

    @alkomy no, but you may want to stop the upgrades on DO and wait for Cloudron to match.

    @alkomy Per https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-version-2-6/151394, it will be released Nov 30. So, just hold on for two weeks and we will have the cloudron package available after they release it.

    @girish Great.

    I updated the DO version app.yml to stable version, (Downgraded), then backed up.
    When I tried to restore to cloudron fresh installation it failed. (attached)
    even both are 2.5.4 now.

    What I will do is:

    • wait for stable version 2.6. update DO app (the live version of our discussion board).
    • Install a test version on cloudron (2.6 stable after you update the image).
      then will see what will happen.!

    Yeah..
    I will move from 2.6.0beat7 to 2.6.0 stable ->> backup
    Then will restore that backup into cloudron image.
    Will try it today & give you feedback.

    @girish

    Restore completed.

    I changed the version to "stable", so there were no downgrade (2.6.0beta7 ->>2.6.0).
    rest is simple, (here is steps for anyone who want to migrate)

    • just install discourse on cloudron,
    • set a demo subdomain to avoid (down time),
    • upload backup file, start restoring process.
    • once restore completed u will logout, signin again with your admin account (The one you use on migrated).
    • go to cloudron dashboard & change to to the real domain. update it from domain register if you use manual domain.
    • be sure in discourse dashboard that the notification email domain is OK.
    • it will take around 1 minute with almost zero down time.
    • to be sure everything is OK, shut down the old server/vps.
