Anybody have wisdom on re-booting Ubuntu server remotely when Ubuntu has disk encryption set up?

This Stack Exchange answer looks promising, using a program called Dropbear. But it was tested on Ubuntu 14.04.

Any reason to think there would be a problem implementing it in Ubuntu 20.04?

There is surely no support for that specifically built within Cloudron. I would somehow assume this is part of the VPS providers job to prompt or give some way to provide this password?

@nebulon you mean the VPS terminal console?

That stack exchange post has at least 5 options to do this, including recent versions Ubuntu.

I'd suggest testing a few options with a local VM and letting us know how it goes by documenting your steps.

Then @staff here can make it happen for Cloudron more easily.

@robi @nebulon Thank you. I will try the recipe I found at Stack Exchange and then report back. In my situation it is for a home server. So I can easily connect a keyboard and monitor to enter the encryption password on the drive in the wake of a server reboot.

I do want to be able to do it remotely though if I'm not home. But the situation is not urgent for me. That explains my delay in following through. But I will.
