    Hello,

Let's say I wanted to use the managed version of Wordpress within Cloudron. Could I easily move it to Cloudways, etc. A few years from now?

@felix Sure, it's not a problem at all. It's just standard WordPress running on a read-only container. I don't know about Cloudways as such, what is required to migrate as such?

If you take a backup of the app and inspect the backup, you will find:

    • the database sql dump
    • the plugin files
    • all other data like attachments etc
    • the code is readonly and not part of the backup, it's just the standard WP release tar ball.

So, if you want to put them all together...

    • Download WP release and extract
    • Copy over wp-content files of the backup. That should be it along with the sql dump.

@felix Yes, you can migrate everything over to Cloudways with no issues, I've done this already. I've also migrated from Cloudways over to Cloudron.

You can either manually migrate things much as what @girish has mentioned. In addition, plugins like MigrateGuru and others seem to work also.

@jlx89 Thank you. Was the process fairly simple?

@felix Yeah, it was pretty straight forward.
