Does anybody know whether it is possible to customise the email templates (in a way that is update-safe)? I know there is a module available to customise CSS, but I am looking for a safe way to customise the templates used to format the emails, for example containing the conversation history or notification mails to users.

@ccfu We use https://freescout.net/module/saved-replies/ for this on our freescout. You can save canned replies and that's update safe.

Thanks, but that is not actually what I meant. The saved replies module is for storing text snippets or indeed entire pre-formulated texts that can be added to emails when they are being composed. What I am referring to is the php template files that are used to cosntruct the emails that are sent out. For example, if you send a reply and activate the option to send entire message history with replies, a template inserts not just the current reply but also the previous correspondence to construct a formatted email. This is what I would ideally like to be able to customise 'update safely'.

Ah ok, I completely misunderstood. I guess this entirely depends on whether the upstream project allows it. Might be worth asking in their issue tracker - https://github.com/freescout-helpdesk/freescout/issues
