Ecommerce + LMS app
-
Hi all!!
I have been reading a lot on the forum about ecommerce and LMS application requests.
In the end it is not clear to me if the people in charge of Cloudron are working on any of this.
I just wanted to know if you are currently working on packaging an ecommerce application, like spree or bagisto ... or the incredible odoo.
Above all, I am very interested in the combination of an Ecommerce + LMS (it is possible that odoo has this feature).
Our intention is to create an academy where courses can be sold too.
Moodle does not work for us.
We have already created an academy with WP + Woo + Learndash + Elementor, but it has a lot of maintenance work. WP is great! but with so many ... so many plugins, I find scaling difficult. Every time we update, we are afraid that something will break.
I was looking for an open source solution for info producers, people who want to sell their own courses, but that was scalable and automatically upgradeable by Cloudron.
We want to provide support and consulting on the creation of infoproducts, but we don't want to worry about the technical part.
One of the reasons we joined Cloudron.
In summary:
- Are you planning to package an ecommerce app in Cloudron in the short term?
- Does anyone know of any other app that can be installed on cloudron that has an online store + LMS? (with a good design please)
Thanks.

@mdreira I’d say this is a situation where more than one app makes more sense. In my opinion multiple more specialized apps works better than one monolithic app that tries to do everything (looking at you Wordpress)
Perhaps opencart + Moodle or opencart + canvas?
I am biased to Moodle as we use it at the university I work at but we are looking at doing something similar so I can let you know more once we actually settle on something

Anyone have experience with https://www.oxid-esales.com/en/ ? I think @nebulon was packaging it at https://git.cloudron.io/cloudron/oxid-app along with @OXIDFabian a while ago. Not sure what the status is.
@msbt also started https://git.cloudron.io/msbt/opencart-app but seems dead now.

I wouldn't mind having two apps to get the job done, as long as they could sync perfectly. I think that's the biggest challenge, they should be able to work together.
Has anyone frequently used opencart or oxid eshop? Could they be synced with moodle or canvas LMS?
What we are looking for is that the ecommerce system, in addition to all the necessary features in an online store, has the ability to easily design the main pages: the store, product page, home page ... this seems to be possible with odoo.
It would also seem like a good option for Cloudron to manage WP + Woo.
