      Cloudron is a good set of apps for our use. We currently host a WP site someplace else together with emails. And Discourse some third place on yet another different domain.

      How should I move? How can I do this as clean as possible?

      Given that I need to import the WP and the Discourse content into the new Ghost / Discourse on Cloudron. So, I do not want to redirect those domains only after migration is done.

      For now, I have set up Cloudron on DigiOcean with a rubbish/temp domain.

      I am not worried about losing mails, so mail is the least of my concerns.

      WP and Discourse are important. And Discourse would move from its own top level domain, new to a subdomain of my main WP domain.

      Thank you

        @andxclfor I'm facing a similar challenge with Discourse at the moment, only it is a hosted standard-edition, which makes the transfer to self-hosted a bit tricky.

        The process in general would be straightforward, you create a backup on the current Discourse, set it read only, set up the new one and import that backup.

        My problem (and yours, depending on what you're using): the live version is Discourse 2.7.0.beta5 and they won't allow migrating to a lower version (Cloudron is Discourse 2.6.3, so I either have to wait until 2.7.0 is stable and the Cloudron version gets updated or I'll have to do a custom build and wait for Cloudron to catch up.

        As for WordPress, there are several posts in the forum (e.g. https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/2531/complete-wordpress-migration-without-reinstalling-plugins or https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/1854/how-to-move-wordpress) and also a blogpost from Cloudron here.

          @msbt one route would be to pull down the repo for the cloudron package and manually bump the version. Then you would just use the CLI to update

          cloudron build
          cloudron install

            @atrilahiji thanks, I know, that's what I meant with custom build 😉

                I was able start fairly fresh. Cleaned WP and exported > imported to Ghost. Website is sorted.

                Discourse I haven't tried yet. Thank you for your suggestions on that.

                Mails are also fine. So, now I am setting up Etherpad and all the other goodies.

                    I tried a simple restore of my backup from my instance at DiscourseHosting and it worked flawlessly.
                    The versions the same.
