@hollosch This looks pretty cool. It also appears to be able to be hosted on the LAMP app on Cloudron, so no need to "wait" for it to be available.
It also works in tandem with Frab and Pretalx, both of which look easy to install and run on another VPS.
I'm gonna give it a whirl.
EDIT: I may have spoken too soon. I don't know if Cloudron's LAMP includes all the required modules:
