Thanks to @BrutalBirdie for referencing the service in this thread. Out of curiosity, I wanted to see how accurate DeepL's translation is and whether they live up to their claim of "the world's most accurate translator". I'm using the text from the thread that started this so here goes:

      Google Translate

      Hello together,

currently volumes in the apps can only be mounted to "/media/{volume name}".

For some apps it would make sense to determine the destination yourself. With the Nextcloud app, for example, it would be easier to outsource the storage for the data. In addition, it would make sense to be able to specify mounts when installing the app.

The only question then is how backups of the volumes can be solved, because volumes are not currently being backed up.

      How do you see it?

      DeepL Translate

      Hello everyone,

currently volumes in the apps can only be mounted to "/media/{volume name}".

For some apps it would be useful to define the target itself. For example, in the Nextcloud app it would be possible to more easily swap out the storage for the data. It would also make sense to be able to specify mounts when installing the app.

The only question then is how backups of the volumes can be solved, because currently volumes are not backed up.

@LoudLemur The translation is worse than Google though 😂

            Hello with each other,

Currently, volumes in the apps can only be mounted after "/media/{volume name}.

for some apps it would be useful to determine the target itself. for example, the nextcloud app would be easier to store the storage for the data. it would then be useful to be able to specify mounts even when installing the app.

then only asks how backups of the volumes can be solved, because currently volumes are not secured.

            How do you see that?

@humptydumpty I have read studies detailing this question a bit more. In total, DeepL is much better than Google Translate except for Russian (no experience with the new Asian languages yet). There are some commercial engines that work better for certain topics, but you would only want to look into this if you work in the translation industry. So, you can safely rely on it.

Interesting now I guess that as an open source the app could get better in time with its use.

Now, what could be more interesting is to test it against Amazon Translate which anyone with an AWS account can use.

I could have tried but I do not have the source text to be translated to English. I know I sometimes use it for English to French translation as well as Deepl and for that they're both very comparable, and I can tell you translation from English to French has been horrible for many many years, but now it's getting much better very surprisingly. It's not perfect but it helps a lot more than ever.
