Gemini is a relatively new protocol which helps create a simpler, smaller internet, one stripped away of bloat. It is great for blogging and as a relief from burdensome http.

To enjoy Gemini, you need a Gemini compliant client, e.g. Lagrange:
    https://github.com/skyjake/lagrange

Though Gemini is simple, it is not too simple to deploy a Gemini server on which to host your own Gemlog. We need to run our own servers instead of relying on others, who might ban you. That is where Cloudron could help.

The sorts of people on Gemini are leading-edge types, often with considerable tech knowhow. Bringing Geminauts into the Cloudron community could strengthen us and broaden appeal to similar folks.

    GPL v 3
    https://github.com/gemrest/maple

    There is Docker compose support:

    Gemini Protocol:
    https://gemini.circumlunar.space/

    Titan Protocol:
    https://communitywiki.org/wiki/Titan

If you would like to participate in the Maple discussion, there is an issue here:

@LoudLemur Looks like a simple build that requires ninja.

It's a tiny executable, and not sure if it needs or has a management UI or if that is through the client.

        @robi
Thanks for the interest. There is a list of other Gemini servers here. The Unsinkable Molly Brown one is created by a Gemini maintainer, Solderpunk:

@LoudLemur what are Maple's port needs?

It's not like Cloudron's are set in stone.

@robi The ports in the Docker can be changed, if needed. In Docker Compose, they are set to:

                1965:1965

@LoudLemur Great, as you know many Apps here have other service ports opened, they just need to be packaged as such and include a webUI for config & health checks, etc.
