  • Cloudron App limit without subscription too low
    Q Quhu

    From the docs https://docs.cloudron.io/packaging/tutorial/ :

    The build service app is installed on a separate Cloudron (not production Cloudron) and acts as a proxy for building docker images and also pushes them to your registry.

    In other words: no difference.

    Thanks for all the inputs.

    Can someone please elborate the difference between: docker build and cloudron build?

    My assumption was: cloudron build is doing much more. e.g. linting CloudronManifest, running integration tests (if any)....

    If there is no difference - there is no need to adapt the maximum of allowed apps.

  • Cloudron App limit without subscription too low
    Q Quhu

    Situation:
    While developing I would like to make use of the "Cloudron Build Service" (app #1) pushing to an also cloudron hosted Image Registry (app #2).

    Problem:
    Trying to run the fresh built app now fails due to app limit (max. 2)

    Suggestion:
    Do not count the "Cloudron Build Service" app on non-Premium instances.
    (Image registry might be more difficult - cause there are various of them)

    P.S.
    Would be also great to be able to run cloudron build using a self signed certificate.

    Well.. I couldn't resist any more:
    Joomla 4.3 with PHP 8.1 is available for Cloudron (but not via the App-Store)

    Sources: https://git.cloudron.io/QuHu/joomla-app
    Instructions: clone - build - install - follow Post-Installation steps!

    Notes:

    • no LDAP
    • no integration tests available atm
    • using redis for caching and session handling
    • plenty of space for improvements/ideas/critique
    • no automatic updates of the Joomla Core System or extensions

  • Cloudron Vagrant box
    Q Quhu

    @girish worked like a charm.

    Repository is here: https://git.cloudron.io/QuHu/cloudron-vagrant-box

    For all who might make use of it.

  • Cloudron Vagrant box
    Q Quhu

    Build a vagrant box based on ubuntu, installing and configuring cloudron for local use, developing, testing, exploring without regretting anything.
    I would like to commit this somewhere for those who might be interested using this.

    Problem: I have no suitable repository in here.
    Can someone give me a hand please?

    Thanks,

    @girish thanks for pointing out to code.

  • Rest API: Docu seems not correct for "Initial DNS Setup"
    Q Quhu
    • Plz check Initial DNS Setup documentation
    • dnsConfig seems wrong in request schema and given example. should be imho domainConfig

    Working JSON payload example (cloudron 7.4.2) for local development:

    {
      "domainConfig": {
        "provider": "noop",
        "domain": "dev.local",
        "config": {
          "token": ""
        }
      }
    }

    Plz verify and update documentation.

    Since I was highly interested in running Joomla as Clouron App, I deciced to have a deeper look on it
    A.t.m. I will not continue to build that app.

    Reason:
    Joomla! has had a native LDAP library, JClientLDAP in Joomla 3.x, and a native LDAP authentication plugin..

    For Joomla 4.x a plugin is available doing that job too.
    But group mapping for multiple groups is not available in the free version.
    Premium version seems costlyto me.

    LDAP auth and group mapping available is imho an essential feature for a proper Cloudron-App
