@LoudLemur I think yes, but with the disclaimer that it will be a much larger and longer install process.

Give it a try if you have the space.

@vladimir-d may know more in the morning.

      @marcusquinn It works beautifully!

Thank you to everybody who helped make this happen! Fantastic win for Cloudron!

Lets hear from a few more people how they managed.

Have folks over at Apache heard how great this works on Cloudron yet? We should let them know!

@robi I am glad you asked, as I was hesitant to make a comment about this, but it seems to be tiny!

I set it up for block storage of data and it is 61.44 kB there, and 1.55GB as a program.

It did not take that long to get going, either. Quicker than Discourse, for example.

I don't know what I did right or wrong, but maybe it is because some of the chart types don't have examples.

Thank you so much for supporting Apache Superset on Cloudron!

The instructions tell us to ensure the value is set to yes. This is the default setting on the installation. Would it be more correct to say edit out the # sign ?

The default installation does not show us the full glory of some demo data, which is very useful to help new users quickly learn by tweaking demo data and changing charts.

Anyway, this is a great success, and I am delighted!

Per @vladimir-d , the reason for this is that demo data is 'downloaded'. This can take a bit of time (5 mins or so) and also error prone (network errors/delay), so we didn't want to block the installation for that.

@LoudLemur Great stuff! Make sure you tweet about it, comment on other forums, sub-Reddits, GitHubs, wherever you get the opportunity.

The more this community can reach out to other communities with all your authentic enthusiasm, the more those back-links turn into more users, participants here, fans of the platform, and all that helps afford more apps and support. Win-win-win!

Will do! I love Cloudron and it is a pleasure to recommend it, though this is tinged by the licence.

A sustainable business model is vital for Cloudron, but maybe there is a way to achieve similar levels of funding for the development team by using something like a crowd-funding model, with goals and stretch goals. It is a very difficult topic.

@LoudLemur Ultimately Cloudon is one of the best promoters for all these open-source app packages, because it helps more people to set them up and use them.

I think focus on that, which is actually the majority of the attention people have for the platform anyway, the platform itself is ultimately driven by the founders, and we all know that delivering on a vision and paying the bills is a challenge, so I think that's best left to their wisdom, and we focus on all the ways that growing the community might eventually make those decisions evolve too.

Absolutely! Cloudron is like the missing link in unleashing all that enormous Free Software power to the people! It is almost like the Userspace equivalent of finally having a kernel for GNU.

Apache Echarts is a somewhat related project and whilst we have the momentum and techniques still in mind, perhaps we could support that on Cloudron, too:

                        Really?

You won't pay $1.00 a day for Cloudron? Why not?

How can you not see the cost/value/return on investment of $1.00 a day for all the amazing work/time savings etc that Cloudron provides?

Why would you attack such a successful business model? They could easily charge $50.00 a month as a base level and it would be worth it.
