What's coming in Cloudron 9
-
Just released 9.0.1 . We will make it the default for new installations from tomorrow. There's still UI bugs to fix, but this is never ending, and I think what we have is functional and any bugs should be workaroundable.
I have updated the demo server . https://my.demo.cloudron.io (username/password: cloudron) , if you want to test it out. Please report any issues in the other thread at https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/14359/cloudron-9.0-beta-bug-reports

How can I update an existing installation? I have an instance I use for testing before rolling out on production. But I don't want to erase the server
-
@andreasdueren if you send me the Cloudron domain name on support@cloudron.io , i can add it to our internal beta tester list .
-
@girish Just to confirm, it's "safe" to update production servers now?
-
Just released 9.0.5 . We have also set this as the default for new installations . Once we see how this goes for a week or so, we will start rolling out updates. There are still some minor UI functionality glitches which we are ironing out. But at least releases will now come fast and furious.

I see this notification

but when I click "Check update" in settings, nothing happens? -
@necrevistonnezr That doesn't seem right... The update is not available, I wonder how your server got it.
Is the above notification appearing for anyone else?
@girish Nope. 1 VPS, and 2 On-premise Cloudrons and nothing comes up on mine. All servers on v8.3.2 (Ubuntu 24.04 LTS).
-
Thanks. I did find a "race", though I am not 100% sure if that is the issue. If @necrevistonnezr checked for updates when I was releasing 9.0.5, it will indeed show up that 9.0.4 update is available ... The release process is not entirely atomic...

Is there an estimate on how many strins have been changed / added in terms of updating the translations?
-
Great work y'all, any updates on when upgrades will begin rolling out? Thanks!
-
@jasonhouston 9.0.7 is going through the CI right now. I think we will start rolling out updates slowly later this week.

Hi i just saw 9.07 available for update is it safe to update on self deployed cloud with 30 plus apps working like n8n, chatwoot, outline, uptime, wikijs, Umami, git, it-tools, guacamole and many more or should i wait?

Yes we are very slowly rolling out Cloudron 9 now. It should be safe to update. As always make sure to have backups of the whole system. If you are a bit uncertain, it could help to make a server snapshot if your server provider offers this. You can delete the snapshot after the update to save costs.
Also if anything goes wrong, let us know, we are here to help.
