Cloudron recently automatically updated my Weblate app from 15.6 to 15.7 as a part of the 1.39.0 package update, and I have been having issues. The Weblate maintenance panel explains it requires Git 2.46 or newer, so I believe Cloudron's (or Weblate's?) Git version might be older and is no longer compatible with Weblate.

    Things I've confirmed:

    • Updating Git on my version of Ubuntu (24.04) doesn't do anything (makes me think Cloudron or Weblate has its own git?)
    • Git works as expected on the previous Weblate version of 15.6.

I'd love to figure out if there's a solution to this, since it prevents me from really using the new version of Weblate at all. Is this an issue with the package? If not, I'd love to hear if there are any steps I can take to update Git.

    Thanks!

Hello @big-boy-games and welcome to the Cloudron forum

      Thanks for reporting.
This is indeed the case https://github.com/WeblateOrg/weblate/blob/f82f32c6d313b5169458aecfc12a8a27414507da/docs/changes.rst?plain=1#L136

To explain the issue a little.
The git version in question is from inside the docker container, which is based on our cloudron:base Docker image.
We will have to update the base image for all Cloudron apps to also update the git version or just update the git version for the weblate app.
      I will look into this.
