@jcalag Not out of the woods yet, still watching for an update to the cloudron app but hopefully we will have one soon.

PS, for those that hit this, if your user's have their master password memorized or accessible somehow they can log into the web version of vaultwarden to access the passwords in the mean time.

Also as another not great work around you can download the previous bitwarden client extension version 2026.6.1, expand assets and download the dist zip for your browser.

After extracting the zip somewhere I would disable the current version of the extension, then if using chromium based browser, enable developer mode for extensions and load an unpacked extension pointing it at the folder where you extracted the files.

This let me use the extension again for the time being but it is not easy to deploy at scale.

The Desktop application might also work, also available form that site, if you disable electron from updating but I haven't experimented with that yet.

@james I am in the same bag as @jcalag, at least on Firefox. But I think that this might be a Vaultwarden issue.
Seems to be tracked here and soon resolved hopefully.

That's odd. It's working fine for me on the same setup as you guys on all my devices (all similar setup, W11/Firefox/etc.). I also checked Brave and the BW Windows Desktop app too. All good

Seems to be a windows issue https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden/issues/7462. One of my user resolved this by downgrading their extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bitwarden-password-manager/versions/

@andreasdueren that explains it. I'm still on 224H2 as my PC's refuse to update past that because of all the windows de-spying hacks/tools that I've used. Sticking it to shitsoft is paying off in dividends

This is not just a Windows Issue @andreasdueren. We have this problems on machines Running the newer client version 2026.08 on Windows and Linux devices,
There is already an update https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden/releases/tag/1.37.2 for vaultwarden that should fix this.

Mac Tahoe 26.6.2 : now working on desktop client, but I had to uninstall the desktop and re-install it.

Had the same problem with LibreWolf on WIN. Removed and reinstalled Bitwarden Add-on. With new version of Vaultwarden, all is working now. Thank you @james
