Nextcloud Talk high-performance back-end

We installed HPBE on a dedicated VPS and Nextcloud Talk is mostly ok for us now.

@nostrdev Hi, I'm curious, could you please share the type of VPS you used (RAM and vCPU, and if they're shared or dedicated)? Have you tried video calls with many people?
It's not easy to find clear information about the right server resources to use when it comes to Nextcloud Talk, and it's better to ensure the server is well dimensioned beforehand rather than realizing during a meeting with 20 participants that it just doesn't work

@ikalou - we gave up on jitsi / mirotalk / nextcloud for group calls. These days we mostly use Proton Meet.

Do you have any tips for managing such a large teleconference?

@LoudLemur honestly it’s not that resource intensive. We used to run the HPB on a fairly small hetzner VPS but since switched over to the Cloudron package with cloudflare turn. Highly recommend.

Does that make a significant difference compared to just using the turn within Cloudron?

@jdaviescoates personally I found the internal turn server to be highly unreliable. But others may have better experiences.
