NFTs

Something for the weekend fellow web 3.0 friends?
So, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are hitting the news, and I went down the YouTube rabbit-hole to see what the fun is all about, and came out with some links as a starting point for learning and experimenting:
Anyone else following this ecosystem?
Anything else (relatively time-efficient) that we should be looking at?

NFT have been on my list to research. You've saved me a lot of time.@timconsidine I'm thinking an easy test exercise that anyone could do is pick a nice photo from your camera library and put it up for sale. That would take you through the end to end process, and you never know, someone might see value in your eye for a picture

@ruihildt I guess that's the point of all contracts, finding two parties with the same belief for a complimentary exchange and immutable record of agreement of those beliefs at that time.

There are some amazing stories of auctions for digital items as NFTs with 7 figure outcomes. People are excited about the potential. Even betting on future events.

Just going to go ahead and throw this here: https://web0.small-web.org
I'm 100% ready for the NFT and crypto craze to die off. "Decentralized" tech that prioritizes and encourages profit is not good for the open web.

@atridad I read that Monero is the only crypto in the top 300 coins that's actually private by default — the rest is just giving away public analytics for your transactions.

@marcusquinn Fair enough. Idk maybe I'm unnecessarily skeptical but I cant help but see crypto and NFTs as one giant money-making scheme.
