After installing the app store package, it seems that you can only subscribe to protected topics.

    • subscribe to a topic
    • fill in topic name
    • takes to 2nd screen which requires user and password

    Is this just me ?

I didn't have this behaviour on custom package.
Seems no way to turn it off.

      bizarre

after subscribing to first topic and making it protected (because I had to), the second topic can be subscribed to as unprotected.

      hey ho.

Maybe this is an upstream bug in the app itself then? Have you checked their issue tracker?

@timconsidine i think that's because it remembers the password for the second time.

All topics are protected by default. This is a deviation from the ntfy default since we don't want unprotected instance. See https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/ntfy/#access-control . auth-default-access has to be changed .
