What do you like to use for the bare domain of a Cloudron website with lots of applications?
-
After you install Cloudron to example.com the default is to reach Cloudron at:
You would have some other applications on different sub-domains, for example:
rocketchat.example.com
peertube.example.com
roundcube.example.comThe question is, what application do you like to put on the bare domain:
example.com
Which is the landing page for the website and which would probably have links to the other services on the sub-domains? -

Wordpress blog, of course!
Or perhaps a Ghost powered website/ newsletter instead.
But yeah, I generally go for one of the other, WordPress or Ghost.
If I'm doing something quickly and just need to get something in place quickly, I tend to just reach for WordPress plus something like the Astra theme https://wordpress.org/themes/astra/ which is one of the most widely used themes these days (for lots of good reasons).
Note: I personally would strongly advise against using the WordPress (Managed) Cloudron app and would also recommend using the WordPress (Developer) Cloudron app instead because the former is so locked down you can very quickly run into issues with plugins or themes not working as expected (I've observed that nearly ever WordPress issue raised in this forum is caused by someone using WordPress (Managed) )

@LoudLemur surely it depends on what purpose the domain plays
I totally get the other answers suggesting a blog
But I see other possibilities, depending on the overall direction / intention of the domain.I have some domains which have absolutely nothing on the bare domain. It returns Cloudron's
no app installed here
and that's intentional : I am not trying to signpost anything to anyone.
On others, I am slightly more polite and put a static 'nothing to see here' HTML page.Equally I can envisage having some form of 'portal' page which has a list of links to apps installed on subdomains.
I don't think there's any right or wrong answers.

Could it be used as giant REFERRALS page? I've never ever used mine, though I think some others here have to great success.
