      yes, see e.g.

      https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/moving/

Or this short guide published yesterday

      https://codingitwrong.com/2022/10/10/migrating-a-mastodon-account.html

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

This is only for users (my account)´?
        What about other users?
Is it possible to export/import the whole instance?

Ah, yes, sorry, I incorrectly presumed that is what you meant.

From Cloudron to Cloudron that is easy, but I've no idea how you might do it from Masto.host to Cloudron, sorry.

But here are the upstream instructions:

          https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/migrating/

I note that step 1 is:

"Set up a new Mastodon server using the Production Guide (however, don’t run mastodon:setup)"

I'm not sure if it's possible to install a new instance of Mastodon on Cloudron without it automatically running mastodon:setup. I'd guess it might not be, but perhaps @staff can advise?

So, masto.host gives your production dumps is it - https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/migrating/#dump-and-load-postgres ? Also, AFAIK, masotodon has no real way to migrate handles . You simply have to start afresh.

I'm not sure what you mean here.

Handles/ domains aren't changing/ migrating, just the whole instance is moving server (at least that is the idea and what @hollosch seemingly wants to do).

              On https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/migrating/ it says

"Copying your Mastodon installation to a new server without losing anything"

              and

"Sometimes, for various reasons, you may want to migrate your Mastodon instance from one server to another. Fortunately this is not too difficult of a process".

@jdaviescoates ahh, so masto.host provides a full fledged server in which mastodon is installed? One can ssh etc as well? I thought it was service providing @masto.hostaccounts.

That was my initial mistake too. I assumed @hollosch had a @something@masto.host mastodon account or something.

But no, https://masto.host/ offers hosted Mastodon servers (although I've no idea if one can ssh in as well - I'd guess quite likely not, but maybe)

I guess the question is: @hollosch did you opt to use your own domain or a free masto.host subdomain? Hopefully you choose to use your own domain, otherwise I think you're stuck.

We'll set up an fresh instance. This is quite simpler.
                    thanks for help!!!
