Why is there no Social Networks app category? Like Pleroma, Mastodon, etc.

I actually want to ask, why is there no social application? After all, it is happy to be with friends.

@legacy There is Nextcloud which supports ActivityPub. It works with Pleroma and Mastodon (plus others) If you want something else, you can attempt to install PixelFed or GNU/Social in the LAMP app
Edit: I've tested Friendica and GNU/Social in a LAMP stack and they work as expected, PixelFed works but requires modification to the LAMP app to run 100%.

In case you would like it, I just made a tutorial on installing Pixelfed to the LAMP app:

Open Source Social Network isn't bad but you have to pay for a module that keeps users logged in, otherwise they have to log in again every time they close the browser or stay away from the site for a while. It's a Facebook clone so it's fairly familiar to non technical people. I think you also have to pay for the LDAP support.
HumHub is a decent option though it feels more like a business community site than a social network.

Is friendica a good option? I keep meaning to test install it but I never got round to it.

Mastodon is published. I've also pushed Pixelfed if you are interested, pending app store approval.

@YurkshireLad Since my comment, PixelFed can be ran without modification to LAMP app.
- Frendica is good, just setup the cron jobs properly so it federates
- PixelFed is probably a better option than Frendica but is much more complicated to setup and maintain
- Mastodon is already an app in the store - easiest setup.

I've been using HumHub for a while and it's pretty good. It has some quirks and the default theme is annoying, but it I like it.
