      Hi @girish

How do we access the outboxes for app based mailboxes?

We have for instance InvoiceNinja on subdomain invoices.ourdomainname.org which creates mailbox invoices@ourdomainname.com.

I would like to be able to access the outbox for invoices@ourdomainname.org as InvoiceNinja does not keep records of the text of outgoing emails and I need to resend some.

I know how to get to my own emails at alec@ourdomainname.org. But I don't see a way to get at the invoices@ourdomainname.org account. There is a postmaster account which may help (Cloudron says alec is the owner) but my password won't work. The root password won't work either.

      1. How do I log in to postmaster@ourdomainname.org to check what's there?
      2. How do I access the outbox for invoices@ourdomainname.org?
This recent thread helped me sort out the postmaster account.

I didn't find an answer to this question in the documentation I know about and which I searched. If I missed something just point me the way and I'll read the docs.

      Thanks for your guidance.

      Alec

@foliovision good question. A mailbox is not created for the app, only an address (invoices@ourdomainname.org) is assigned and permission is given to send with that address. So, if you want to access the mailbox, you have to manually create one. You can access it by logging in as the owner of the mailbox.

One important caveat: you will see sent mail in the mailbox only if the app "stores" a copy in the Sent folder. Per https://forum.invoiceninja.com/t/emails-not-showing-in-sent-items/12595/16 you can just bcc to that address (haven't tested myself).

Thanks very much for explaining how Cloudron app email works, girish. It would be great to have this explanation with a bit more detail in the Cloudron documentation. Tracking all this down took a fair amount of time, and I had to interrupt you.

@foliovision it's in https://docs.cloudron.io/apps/#email 🙂 See the note. But to be fair, it's hard to read through all the docs in detail.
