RosarioSIS (or any open-source SIS)
-
Dear all,
I am interested in installing an open-source Student Information System, such as RosarioSIS, for a college in addition to their Moodle e-learning site.
Is there a possibility of porting this kind of application to Cloudron in the near future?
Thank you for your hard work!
Best wishes

Possibly stupid question, but what is a SIS ? Is this like a CRM but specialized for schools ?

At initial glance and looking at the installation instructions, you should be able to set this up using a LAMP app.

Had to look it up, from Wikipedia:
"A student information system (SIS), student management system, school administration software or student administration system is a management information system for education sector establishments used to manage student data. It integrates students, parents, teachers and the administration. Student information systems provide capabilities for registering students in courses; documenting grading, transcripts of academic achievement and co-curricular activities, and the results of student assessment scores; forming student schedules; tracking student attendance; generating reports and managing other student-related data needs in an educational institution. "
My Son's school uses https://www.isams.com/ . They call it a "School Management Information System (MIS) "

Update on SIS apps. I've managed to successfully install Gibbon on Cloudron's LAMP. It works fine

NB: I've also tried RosarioSIS but was not successful.
PS: The latest app I'm trying to install is OpenSIS. Should work but it requires to disable MySQL Strict Mode. Unfortunately as I'm not a PHP dev I don't know how to proceed
