Well done to those Invidious developers! Hopefully, Google will give up trying to stop them.

Mines still currently working (but I rarely actually use it!)

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

Mines working, do you think youtubes newest attempt in inject ads server-side is breaking it?

I wanna throw in an idea I just had but I lack the expertise to know if it's feasible:

Would it be at all possible to add an openvpn configuration to the Invidious app? That way one could utilize different IP addresses when required and also keep the IP of the server on which the instance is running hidden from YT/G. Might be worth considering.

@svtx definitely possible and I think would be a good addition for other apps like rss readers as well that want to hide their IP when fetching feeds

Come to think of it, this feature may prove to be quite useful in several professional and private applications.

Perhaps it would make sense to store the VPN configs in Cloudron's central network options then and allow to use them or the default server gateway on a per-app basis (in the respective app's settings).

If you have been using invidious for a while and Google nerf it, resorting to a "normal" Youtube experience packed full of advertisements is awful. I hope Invidious developers can get it working again soon, like they did last time.

ublock origin is your friend, gets rid of the ads at least.

Whenever I used a computer without an adblocker installed I'm blown away by how many ads there are!

All those apps that "expose" the IP address for their operation could benefit from this improvement.

@girish any updates on this implementation?

so the best potential solution would be ipv6 rotation + openvpn, right?
