I use the SnappyMail Nextcloud app as my email client inside Nextcloud. You may want to investigate that. Works pretty well, but has it's own quirks too.

Cheers, I think I'll ignore all of nextclouds features except the file storage/sharing, and use sogo, as so far it seems to be the most reliable web mail client with carddav / caldav and outlook client

@AartJansen that seems quite a common approach
for some reason I can't get on with SOGo myself and prefer SnappyMail I also make use of Nextcloud Talk for video meetings and find that works pretty well (and it's nice having integration with the rest of Nextcloud, so you can e.g. open and work on a doc together, etc).
