What's coming in 8.0

Perhaps @scooke is actually running an older version but wrote 7.7.2 in error?
I indeed am running 7.7.2 on one, but 7.5.2 on another.
-
@eddowding This is my situation. I am at 7.5.2 on a non-av server, and the only upgrade notice I get is for 7.6.1, with the warning:
Update MongoDB to 5.0. Important: this release requires AVX support in CPU
Read @nebulon's comment a few above these ones. I think I will just reinstall, straight to 8, and skip the hassle of trying to upgrade.
-
@eddowding there is no extra update notification for this. If you have a Cloudron without AVX please send a mail to support@cloudron.io with Cloudron details and remote SSH support enabled for us, so we can hotfix those. We expect only few Cloudrons on that path so a full release testing only for this didn't seem too useful for the moment.

There is no hard cut point in time for releases. We usually stretch the rolling out over quite some time. Currently, all new installations are v8 already since a week, but we haven't started to roll it out for autoupdates yet. This is just being cautious on our end as it is not a security sensitive release. We do work on v8.1 with some minor fixes and improvements over v8.0 so unless you really need a feature already there you might as well wait for that. That being said so far the release has went quite well.

w00t, I have fixed the long-standing issue of backups getting stuck (usually, it would says @0Mbps) . Fix is in 8.0.1 (not released).
@girish Bingo! We might be affected by that very issue: backups getting stuck @0Mbps (in the middle of a managed WP version upgrade, all be it a minor upgrade)
Just logged this ticket
https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/12123/wordpress-app-container-stuck-on-updating-from-package-version-3-7-2-to-3-7-3If the fix is to upgrade to Cloudron v8.0.1, I'll need to look at that because just like @eddowding we are currently running v7.7.2 (due to our, let's say, lack of human resources and time)
Thank you, guys! Great forum and community here, and not for the first time!

@krumel just confirming that Linode still has the Cloudron Ubuntu 22 LTS 1-click deployment and I opted to go for a manual 24.04 LTS install and followed the instructions to install and set up Cloudron v8. In my limited time using it, Cloudron is seemingly stable and working well.

Updating my servers to 8.0.4 went smoothly. Thanks guys!
