I notice the focus becomes stronger on backups, archives and that's for good. despite I did search for this, I couldn't find if it's technically possible or not, so I'm asking here and I'm happy at need to create a separate topic for this, anyway:

    • is it possible and planned to download any app backup from Cloudron admin UI without going through the command line?

@SansGuidon You can already do this by going into the App Configuration > Backups > Click Actions > Download

@SansGuidon I don't believe you're doing anything wrong. It's not possible to download the actual backup from the dashboard yet. IIRC, @marcusquinn brought this up in the recent past in another thread.

Downloading rsync backups is not implemented. It's really hard to do this via Cloudron (you have to somehow pipe separate files as an archive from the storage provider through the box code and then into the browser). Ideally, this should be provided by the storage provider. But AFAIK, no storage provider implements this either.

@humptydumpty said in Downloading backups from dashboard:

Looks like it is now possible if using tar.gz backups

I'm hoping with 8.2 it'll be possible to do rsync to one location and tar.gz to another 🤞

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner
