Install Additional Python Module for OpenWebUI

Hi, sometimes when we try install certain tools in OpenWebUI then it requires certain additional phyton module for example finnhub-python, is it possible to install this kind of module in the openwebui container? or I should install in server wide enviroment? or this can't be done, please enlight me if this doable or not

You have to make a custom package from https://git.cloudron.io/packages/openwebui-app to install modules . It's not possible to add additional python modules to the published app .

Installation of additional packages would be great! Would a quick fix be to make the directory "/app/code/venv/lib/python3.12/site-packages/" writable in the cloudron app (eg. symlink to a /app/data/site-packages directory)?

Hello @nckne
The @openwebui app is complex and enabling users to install other python packages would add more complexity.
Like mentioned before, you can customize the app yourself if you really need other python packages.
