    Cleared caches, uninstalled everything and re-installed. Notes still fails to sync up to the cloud.

      That is very odd.
      I've done the migration for a customer instance with 300 Users and for multiple weeks now we had to such reports.
      What mobile OS are you using? There was a recent issue in the forum about app passwords not being generated and working because of Safari in iOS.

        I've re-installed Notes and NextCloud from both GPlay and FDroid multiple times already. Not sure if there is anything I'm missing, but I guess I'll know once you go through with the NC update.

          Somewhat bizarrely, whilst the first quick tests I did this morning both worked fine, now they've both stopped working again.

          And as far as I'm aware literally nothing has changed in the interim.

          I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

            For me - it works for the initial sync, after that doesn't work - eg. Notes on my phone gets all 150+ notes entries/files, seems to be good. Go and edit one or create a new one and that starts throwing errors and never works.

            Re-installing apps, clearing caches/storage/etc. doesn't help.

            Using app passwords or using OIDC for NextCloud client (main app) auth doesn't make a difference.

              I've got GrapheneOS on a Pixel Pro. I've messed around with various per-app security settings that GrapheneOS provides, but none of that helped.

                  Worked just fine before OIDC upgrade with Cloudron.

                  Considering I couldn't find any reports of similar nature unrelated to Cloudron's hosting of NextCloud the chances of it being just NC-Notes issue are even lower. Not impossible, of course, but I'd expect people report on issues like this. The issues reported over the past 6-12 months are all related to tokens or similar.

                      I don't use Talk often, and have no way to test it, unfortunately. But I doubt this issue has nothing to do with whatever happened during OIDC integration and NC updates.

                      @nebulon As far as reporting upstream. I presume you're talking about you guys doing that as you have all the knowledge about how NC is integrated, what is done to it, etc? And I presume your staff should be testing and looking into issues like this?

                        Given that we just configure OpenID in nextcloud, my thought was that maybe notes (possibly talk) may hit issues in the nextcloud OpenID backend. This is not related to Cloudron mostly though as if Nextcloud login over OpenID works, the rest of auth is handled within nextcloud (or rather those nextcloud apps) itself.

                        Since some have reported that initial sync with notes works, but eventually fails, maybe some token expiration is hit. Though it is unclear why nextcloud would suddenly not accept its own internal app passwords...

                          • I restarted my notes android app. The notes appeared
                          • Made changes in the notes android app. They are synced just fine

                            I can also get to this stage, and then without any further changes it just stops working. I'm about to try again...

                            I figured I'd try to create a clean slate by deleting all older app passwords... but that didn't work. If I try to delete any old app passwords I just get:

                              @jdaviescoates why are app passwords required here? I just did OIDC login with the main nextcloud app. Then, all I had to do was select an existing account .

                                @joseph I'm not sure they are.

                                But I figured I'd try to clean up the old ones as part of troubleshooting and working out what's going on.

                                But I just tested, and deleting app passwords works on this Nextcloud on the demo https://te.demo.cloudron.io/settings/user/security 🤔

                                So perhaps the fact that I can't delete app passwords on mine is somehow related to the syncing not working properly? 🤔

                                And actually, right now I can't create app passwords either, similar to the temporary issue @bazinga was having previously.

                                        Ah, this was actually because it wasn't enabled on the server! (I think it got auto disabled at some point because it wasn't compatible with the Nextcloud version).

                                        Indeed, something still isn't quite right because despite the fact this is a Featured app, when I look at it within Nextcloud it says it's an untested app and that Server version 30 or lower is required. (and has a button to update to the version I'm already on 🤷 ) :
