I just recently tried Dokploy. There have been a few posts mentioning it here. Man, what a hassle. I mean, if you LOVE editing docker compose yaml or toml or wthl (what the hell L) files, and know which info is supposed to go where, fiddling with env files, then tweaking domains and urls, then maybe it would be good for you. I tried a number of Templates which are apps that are supposedly ready to go... they aren't. Wordpress and NextCloud worked out of the box, all the others I tried didn't. One required Minio but still called for the Bitnami image of Minio, so that one I could figure out, but generally I don't know what was missing for the others. I imagine all the deets I didn't know are EXACTLY what the Cloudron team DOES KNOW and when they offer something ready to go, it is actually truly ready to go.

So I uninstalled dokploy (it's uninstaller didn't work, either, no surprise, and I had to do it manually). Went back to Yunohost because it alone has one app I really really would like to use - Bookwyrm. Guess what! The VPS I ordered from Dedihost (from Lowendtalk) runs Ubuntu 24, and Yunohost can't install on that! What?! Man, I was sooo close to opening my heart to Yunohost, again, but nope. I don't think I'll ever bother going back to it.

So far, the only other option which has sort of been working is Runtipi. I have personal reasons why I detest the name and imagery, but hey, it works, and has an interesting offering of apps. I am considering trying Coolify again, or even Umbrel (which is more dedicated to homelabs and thus has no easy - for me - way to add https to it) because it offers Snort and I like fiddling with Nostr. I already have one other Cloudron, but just the free version; most of the apps I like which Cloudron offers I am running on my main server.

Cloudronians, if we could get some kind of Nostr offering, as well as Bookwyrm, I'd be very grateful.

It may be able to be installed in the LAMP app, then you just run it on your Cloudron.
