after a just install, WP-JSON API return Not Found

According to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23842235/wordpress-jsonapi-wp-json-was-not-found-on-this-server:
"The WordPress JSON API depends on pretty permalinks, make sure you have them enabled for the site."
Though a quick read of the linked docs doesn't say anything like that. Does it work in managed WP (where we enable pretty links by default)?

damn! I almost feel stupid, I just listen to the Gatsby dude which was saying you have nothing to set in your wordpress
