Under Notifications sometimes a reboot of the server is suggested. The reason is security updates.

It would be nice to schedule the reboot for a specific time.

@Captain-Kirk For now, until something in the UI is implemented you can use the following via SSH:

        shutdown -r <time>

        Example: shutdown -r 20:00 (Reboots at 8PM)

@murgero Related question: If I change the time on the server from UTC to PST, will it mess with Cloudron? I thought a while back we weren't supposed to touch it, but maybe I am misremembering, I may be confusing this with just the general time shown in Cloudron logs and stuff back in the day. Right now mine is UTC, so issuing the command you provided wouldn't work well for me as it'd be during business hours tomorrow. Obviously I can change the time to compensate, but wasn't sure if we can actually change the timezone or not without repercussions to Cloudron.

@d19dotca AFAIK changing the time on server will mess with Cloudron unless the cloudron backend is using some 3rd party NTP service.

Indeed, don't change the timezone of the server from UTC. All our code converts server timezone to your browser timezone (for example, logs). What is the use case for changing the server timezone? For the reboot time? Hopefully, we can fix automatic reboot soonish (I am not sure why ubuntu itself does not provide some mechanism for this).

Will lock this thread in favor of the same question about a week ago https://forum.cloudron.io/topic/2677/ability-to-schedule-restart-reboots-updates?_=1592566614617
