I'm not sure if spam is working on my server or not because I've marked several emails from the same person as spam and they keep showing up in the inbox. How long does the learning phase take?

I'm using Rainloop and marking the emails as spam in Rainloop and not in my iOS Mail app.

Spam learning is done based on emails being put into the spam folder within an account. It does take quite a few emails initially to train. Best you make sure your client moves the mails into the spam folder and then keep them there for now.

@nebulon That's exactly what I'm doing. I'll wait a bit more to see how it goes. Thanks!

@nebulon curious, does that apply to Mail Apps that use the junk folder path instead?

We're not here for a long time - but we are here for a good time :)

@nebulon I assume spam learning is only for each local instance and not Cloudron.io wide, correct?

And adding to that question would it be a good idea to allow Cloudron instances to "share" their learned spam filters?

I can already think of some problems with that.

But the imagination of a community driven spam filter learning which learns from each instance could be a nice thing.

@brutalbirdie correct the learning only happens on the Cloudron instance itself.

I think community driven spam filter learning was already proposed some longer time ago and would probably be a nice addition. Not sure though how this can be implemented.
