Solved Discount coupon issue
I just made a yearly subscription with black friday offer.
I am a bit surprised about the payment process.
i was not asked about the VAT number to avoid VAT taxes.
also i am not very sure if the coupon was properly applied.
how should we check that ?
@xavierl thanks for subscribing The coupon itself was only meant for our monthly plans. It was mentioned in the mail but our UI here was definitely confusing. A couple of users have already raised this issue, so we are in fact, just deploying the new site as we speak. Should be deployed in the next hour. Some of the changes made are:
- The coupon field is clearly disabled in yearly billing
- There is a confirmation screen to review order before actually charging
- Payment errors are also better highlighted now
As for VAT, I will let @nebulon answer it, since he handles this.
(BTW, I removed the coupon code because the offer was only sent out to limited people and it's only valid till end of today.)

@xavierl regarding the VAT number, we currently don't support that case. It is also on my list to integrate validation through https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/ however this is not currently done and we follow VATMOSS for all EU customers. I hope this does not cause you much inconvenience for tax reporting to recoup this.

Which Black Friday Offer?
@brutalbirdie It was a discount coupon that we sent out via email to some users. It was meant to offer an off on the monthly plan. I changed the title since we didn't send it to most people
I was contacted very shortly after asking.
both on this forum and by email.
but i was later on in weekend.
it seems solutions were handled this morning to solve my question.
support seems to be fast and fair
in a word efficient
