LibreTime - Radio Broadcast & Automation Platform

"Libretime is an open source radio automation and broadcasting solution helping communities get on-air with ease. "The platform can be easily deployed on dedicated hardware and VMs, on-prem or in the cloud, “free as in freedom” free. "Let your station underwrite its own destiny."

@jdaviescoates is it available for installation in cloudron? @blaise nope. This is a thread proposing it as an option to be packaged.

I notice it is ALPHA : I played with Azuracast (https://www.azuracast.com) which seems further along the development path so may be better choice. But have not done a feature comparison.

The stable version of LibreTime happens to be an alpha: 3.0-ALPHA-8 LibreTime would be brilliant for Cloudron. I also hope it is supported, and soon!

Those interested in LibreTime might like to participate in the following live event: https://discourse.libretime.org/t/online-libretime-meetup-21-october-2021-19-00-utc/1027 Perhaps we could find some help packaging LibreTime for Cloudron...

Hi. One of the core LibreTime maintainers here. LibreTime is in alpha, in that we do not currently provide support for versions earlier than the current. LT was forked from a very mature project, Airtime, which had died (the open source portion at least). Azuracast is similar to LibreTime, however it does not provide the scheduling power that LT has. I am not familiar with Cloudron packaging, but I am happy to help from the LibreTime side. We have community supported Docker images that haven't seen development for a while. We are busy updating those and moving them to a more official location. That should hopefully be done soon (TM).

Great to see you, @paddatrapper and thank you for reaching out to Cloudron. This could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!

My packaging skills are not great, but I am sure someone will take you up on the suggestion.LT is on my wishlist/watchlist.

There is some work to provide a Docker image for LibreTime here: https://github.com/kessibi/libretime-docker Perhaps somebody could try it with Cloudron and let us know the results? It would be fantastic to enable a radio broadcast station on Cloudron!

It would be fantastic to enable a radio broadcast station on Cloudron! @LoudLemur @paddatrapper has been working on the new release of LibreTime and trying to get it to work in a Docker. It is quite complicated and I expect it is going to take quite some time yet. If you need a radio service now, Vultr offer an Azuracast deployment.

Paddtrapper has managed to sort out a Docker for LibreTime. It was a lot of coding to do it properly. https://github.com/libretime/libretime/pull/2134 The Docker images for LibreTime will be built from the next release, 3.0.0-beta.0 I hope people can test this and report how well it works.

LibreTime is now on version 3.0.2

Hi. The Docker images are generally available and are fast becoming the default way to install LibreTime. With v3, LibreTime is no longer considered to be in an alpha state.

Hands a bit full just now.
Hoping to do another aid delivery for Ukraine (so far 10 trips, 13 vehicles, 18 tonnes of medical kit incl. 2 large ultrasound scanners).
And need to launch a new iOS app : 1st version took 6 months of dev work over 2 years : just finishing rewriting V2 with AI in only 2 weeks
Will take a look after I have finished battling nonsensical Apple appstore release procedure.
Probably will ditch Google Playstore for paid apps and sell from own website as a download.
