@robi Packaging the app will be easy - but if you wanted to test it out right now, you can install in a LAMP app. 🙂

This seems like a fairly decent alternative option to HumHub.

@jdaviescoates Is it ActivityPub compat? Seems like at this point, if it doesn't do the fediverse, it's gotta be pretty limited

@doodlemania2 OSSN is private and local - it doesn't do server to server afaik. Sadly.

I like Activity Pub but it there don't seem to yet be any decent implementations of groups.

I think OSSN and HumHub are potentially good replacements for Facebook Groups which right now is a use case I don't think any of the existing ActivityPub apps cover very well.

@murgero Run well on a LAMP. But it doesnt have a LDAP connection and the admin section is "rudimentary".

                Greetings Chris

Hmm as far as I can see OSSN does not use one of the common social protocolls like Zot, OStatus, diaspora, or ActivityPub. I would prefer something that is interconnectible and has working LDAP support like Hubzilla. We already have Mastodon which uses ActivityPub.

@subven I'm a fan of ActivityPub too, and I'd love to see FunkWhale, Lemmy and other apps on here, but there are loads of use cases where there is no need not desire to federate.

Also as far as I can tell none of the existing federating options really do groups that well.

@jdaviescoates I'm keen to package Lemmie - that looks like a great one! Time notwithstanding...
