    What is a Text Expander?

    A text expander is a program that detects when you type a specific keyword and replaces it with something else. This is useful in many ways:

    Save a lot of typing, expanding common sentences.
    Create system-wide code snippets.
    Execute custom scripts
    Use emojis like a pro.
    

    Of course I am curious if folks are already using something like this.

      @seeker This looks awesome! I currently use Rocket which is only for Macs and only for emojis (and support is not great...). Will definitely given Espanso a whirl!

      However, this is a desktop application, and syncing happens through a config file that can be stored on the cloud, but needs no special server. So I don't know that this is something that can be packaged for Cloudron.

          It looked like a good alternative to what I have used and I liked that it had sync. I posted it in the discussion area and not the app wish list area for the reasons you mentioned.
