Alternate IP Address (Ability to specify outbound IP for an app)
-
Is it possible to setup OpenVPN to use an alternate IP Address? For example, I'd like to setup OpenVPN to use a different IP Address than the VPS we have assigned for Cloudron.
Thank you!

I do not think this is possible. Also, I don't think it's a cloudron limitation, as I don't know how I would go about doing it even in a simple OpenVPN install on a baremetal server.

Like @mehdi, I am not too sure what you have in mind either. Are you thinking that the existing VPN app will tunnel out through some other VPN service? How can it use a different IP?
-
@girish @mehdi So basically we have two OpenVPN apps setup, one being a personal instance and the other being a company instance. I'd like to add a floating IP to our VPS and setup the Personal OpenVPN instance to use the floating IP, and keep the dedicated VPS IP for the company VPN. Does that make sense?
Thanks!

@jlx89 Ah, I see, so the server has multiple IPs. And you would like the VPN app to use a specific IP. Did I get that right?
-
@girish Correct!
-
@jlx89 Ah got it. I will move this to feature requests then, since we don't have this feature yet.
I think we have to tell docker somehow to use a specific outbound IP/interface.

@girish Awesome, thank you!

Hello,
I am curious if this might be implemented or if anyone has any additional information on how to make this happen? -
@JLX89 this is currently not on our immediate roadmap.
