PTR record resolves incorrectly.
-
I got my ISP to do a PTR record. initially it worked.
public IP to my.domain.
now it says its in error, and cloudron and my workstation on the same LAN resolve public IP to nextcloud.mydomainI did add the nextcloud app to the cloudron install and give it the nextcloud hostname.
Externally the PTR record resolves correctly.
I thought my local DNS a bit misconfigured, not the cloudron server.
IP's & DNS server are assigned via DHCP. cloudron server is IP reserved.
My DNS servers are the ISP and a pihole.
On my PC when I do a nslookup <public ip> I can se the pihole log retrieve a PTR record from the ISP's name server.
I do not have any DNS records with my domain host set for anything other than my & * IE theres no nextcloud.domain
Is it pi hole? or the cloudron, I can't see any where on pihole where it would be getting nextcloud instead of my as a hostname... except the cloudron install. -
@AartJansen It was pihole, I think. I tweaked settings, and flushed DNS, and waited, and the problems gone.
