Foundry is a FOSS, self-hosted virtual tabletop.

      https://foundryvtt.com/
      https://foundryvtt.com/article/installation/

      It has community Docker images.
      https://hub.docker.com/r/felddy/foundryvtt/tags

I have a license for it, and I would love to be able to simply install it on Cloudron. πŸ™‚

@TheMeerkat I would love to see this as well. I have several games I play with my friends and right now I setup VMs for them. Would be much better if we could get it in a docker container in cloudron.

@TheMeerkat I'd like to see this, but can the server itself be hosted for free or does it also require a license?

@murgero it requires a license for you to run the server. I think it costs about $50.

@cilleyperson that being said, given that cloudron has an app image for confluence, hopefully the license part isn’t a sticking point.

I don't like the idea of including or increasing the number of non-Free applications which Cloudron supports. If any applications are non-Free, I think there ought to be a flag.

                  @LoudLemur I'm not sure I agree.

Cloudron isn't free software itself, and many of us are using this to support business applications. I already pay for two cloudron premium licenses, and this would allow me not to need to use non-Cloudron based VMs to host this software. The level of community interest, not price, should dictate whether or not time and effort is put into creating a community image for the server software.

I suppose if needed I could use the Cloudron Build Service application to roll my own Foundry server docker image for the platform, but why not make it available to everyone if there is interest?

I do think there should be a flag in the app store that indicates whether or not the software requires a paid license or not. That way people will know if there is an additional cost to running the server in addition to what they are already paying for Cloudron.

@cilleyperson We already have apps that need licenses like confluence, teamspeak, onlyoffice enterprise etc. It's fine to have non-free apps.

It was very.... very..... very simple to package this.

Also I have already tested a major upgrade.

Maybe this packaging could be re-attempted using an AI. We might be able to improve the AI training with it....

I just mean that, if this is about as simple as packaging can be for Cloudron, perhaps the AI might be able to do it. If it could do this one, it might be able to do another one. We might be able to learn which applications look packageable by AI.

                                Thanks for packaging it!

@BrutalBirdie interesting. Do you think this is worth publishing in the App Store? I can't quite make out if this is generally useful or not.

It would make sense in the app-store since I know people who want to use this but have no idea of hosting.
This would make it very easy for them or a service provider like me - I already host multiple of these for friends.
In the app-store also makes sense since people who want to use the app now need premium.
Since without premium you can't install custom apps.

This might be something that we should think about, already had multiple people denying cloudron a go since they could not test if they could run their own packaged stuff without paying up front - more private nerds then companies, for companies I am like bruh just pay for a month evaluation.

Where was I? Ah yes in the app-store, that would be nice πŸ‘

I just mean that, if this is about as simple as packaging can be for Cloudron, perhaps the AI might be able to do it. If it could do this one, it might be able to do another one. We might be able to learn which applications look packageable by AI.

                                      Thanks for packaging it!

The Oof was more like, yea AI could have done that.
