I don't think Cloudron is designed for this kind of use, but lets just ask and see.

Lets say that you have several domains:

      example.net
      website.org
      cool.com

You also have one server and a Cloudron account.

Could you do the following: Run 3 different websites on the same Cloudron? For example,

Setup example.net with a Discourse forum, Website.org with a NodeBB forum and Ghost on cool.com?

@LoudLemur Just add all domains and install apps on each. Easy.

@LoudLemur said in One Cloudron, Many Websites?:

            Website.org with a NodeBB forum

Also forum.website.org so use subdomains to “save” your root domain for a website for example

@LoudLemur this... is exactly one of the use-cases 🤣

I run a bigger community Cloudron Server for approx: 20 small communities.
They share one instance, pay the premium together and share the resources.

Each has their own domain, forum, teamspeak, Mail yada yada yada.
Each community has their cloudron group and users.
There is a even a "marketplace" RocketChat where all communities intertwine to share their knowledge and resources.

Socialist Hosting you might call it? xD

@BrutalBirdie Thanks everybody! I should have been more clear.

Lets say these three communities do not and should not encounter each other. For example, the dog community, cat community and mouse community.

Would it still be possible to keep these three on the same cloudron ok? I think Nebulon said this was not what Cloudron was designed to do, however I reckon it might be workable.

@LoudLemur Yup, all the domains, all the websites. So damn easy compared the years of torture with Plesk maintenance!

@LoudLemur Sure, zillions of websites share an IP address. It's called shared hosting, most of the internet works this way.

@LoudLemur You have to take care of the community groups.
Only the members of each community should have access to their apps.
Cloudron can do this, no problem.

                        I do exactly this.

                        One server with multiple organizations

The orchestration of this depends on if you have the users have access to Cloudron UI and LDAP or not. From there you can separate things in the UI or have start-pages for each org so they can jump to their apps easily.

The main issue with doing what you describe is that you can't really let them manage their own email, because at present in Cloudron the Mail Manager role can manage all mail for all domains. So the cats could delete all the email accounts of the mice, and the dogs could detele all the email accounts of the cats etc.

Other than yet, yeah, just create dog, cat and mouse groups and only give them access to the apps on their relevant domains.

Loads of us are doing this (although I often forget to assign a new app to a relevant group a so sometimes for a while an app is available to everyone until I notice!)

@jdaviescoates Thank you. It is quite amazing.

What if the cats wanted a discourse forum and then later so did the dogs?

@LoudLemur you can have any/all of the apps on any/all of the domains you have registered in your Domains section.
Just need to choose appropriate subdomain for the app, e.g. discourse.cats.xxx and discourse.dogs.xxx

Constraint will be the size / performance of your VPS, not Cloudron.

That's fine, other than Discourse it pretty RAM hungry. But yeah, I'm running multiple different discourse forums on different domains for different people.
