@girish I see that 7.5.0 has this in the changelog, does this mean that it'll now support a Nginx Proxy Manager in front of Cloudron? 🥳

@alwynispat AFAIK, having a proxy in front should already work. What this does is to trust the IP address that is set by the proxy in front (X-Forwarded-For).

I see 7.5.0 is out now, I just got the notification. I’ll look to update tonight. I was curious… I see spam learning being a topic in 7.5 but it wasn’t in the release notes of 7.5.0 that I saw. Is that coming later in another patch release or was that indeed addressed in 7.5.0?

@d19dotca most of the features are not done. Only the mail privacy issue, oidc fixes ,redis 7 upgrade is done . We pushed this early since redis and oidc updates were blocking many apps.

I wonder - how good is 7.5 for production use? I can see that some of my instances are not updated automatically and I guess it's because it's not considered to be good for all use cases?

7.5.0 is primarily out for people blocked on discourse and chatwoot. I would wait for a couple of weeks for 7.5.1 which will have many of the features implemented.

@girish thank you! If I don't use discource & chatwoot, everything else is expected to be fine? Or not really?

For 7.5, we just want to focus on fixing some long standing issues instead of adding new features. Also, Cloudron 7.4 added OIDC support, so we are also working on moving apps from LDAP to OIDC slowly (as long as the migration works seamlessly).

These are fairly critical and we haven't paid attention to them in a while:

                  • (mail) Virtual all directory in dovecot for search
                  • (mail) Investigate why Spam learning/filtering sometimes does not work effectively.
                  • (mail) SPF regression adding an extra header and leaking client IP.
                  • Backup integrity - store size and checksum of backups. Also provide a way to "verify" backup integrity in the remote.
                  • Backup/restore progress
                  • SSHFS/CIFS import is not working - 1 and 2
                  • Add optional flag for turn addon.
                  • Add check to indicate that Cloudron 7.6 will not support servers without AVX. This is required for MongoDB 6.0
                  • Upgrade Redis to 7 . This is required for Discourse
                  • Improve app repair workflow

The turn option is huge, thank you! I cannot wait to implement it. Is it in the 7.5.0 pre-release?

@eganonoa I'm on 7.5.0 and don't have those options yet. It must be in 7.5.1 that's coming in the next week or the 7.6 release (no ETA yet).

When will 7.5 be considered GA / stable? Been out for a couple of weeks now but still says pre-release.

@swheeler78 the code went through a major rewrite, so we are giving it more time. Our e2e passed yesterday, we will do a round of manual testing coming week and release 7.5.1 as stable.

So, does this mean that 7.5.1 will replace 7.5 or will I still need to upgrade to 7.5 first? Thanks for everythign in advance.

As an update here, 7.5.1 e2e tests are now running. We should have a release in a day or two.

                                        This is now fixed.

This is implemented now - redis and turn can be optional (depending on the app).

@girish Can't seem to see the Redis option in 7.5.0 using unmanaged WordPress. Is this coming in a future release?
