It could be useful to add a button in "System info" that sends a shutdown -h now to Cloudron instance.

with double triple and quadruple confirmations I hope 😄

but if it is going to be -h, you're going to need to log in to VPS portal to start it again
so isn't it easier to just use the VPS portal to issue the shutdown ?

@timconsidine yes, with at least double confirmation. eg. "write here SHUTDOWN NOW". This feature could be useful when rescaling a Cloudron instance and let you not connect via SSH to shout down.

I guess we can add "safe shutdown" button . As opposed to a "force power off" which should be in the VPS portal as @timconsidine said.

@girish thank's a lot. I think this feature could reduce time connecting to SSH, login, and shutdown correctly before rescaling.

Then, to start again, as @timconsidine suggest, need to act from VPS panel (after rescaling), but usually VPS provider automatically reboot after rescaling.

            Thank's a lot

@p44 Wouldn't you have to go to the VPS panel to rescale though? Unless I am misunderstanding what you want to achieve here, all three steps would be in the VPS panel: shutdown, rescale, restart. I don't know about other providers, but Hetzner has both shutdown and power off.

@p44 and how many times do you need to rescale ?
                Once per year/month/week/day/hour/minute ?
There's a trade-off of importance vs convenience vs dev resources.
Can't see the case for using dev resources on this.
                IMHO

@ccfu I'm not sure if shutdown provided by VPS is ok, but I prefer that Cloudron shuts down himself, not with an external command from VPS panel.

@timconsidine sorry I cannot understand when you talk about "dev resources": you mean Cloudron's dev resources?

@timconsidine Well, I don't know if Cloudron's dev are facing to "dev resources" problems, maybe you know more about that.

I only posted a "feature suggestion", far from wanting to "drain" development resources.
