Some good news. Seems like it'll still be a good while until they'll be new web app but they just got a grant to work on the new back end: https://www.mailpile.is/blog/2023-05-01_A_Mail_Client_in_Six_Steps.html

@cracke_sonoras said in MTProto for Telegram: PS: Creating a new topic, since this one is 4-year old. I would like to request that MTProto be fully integrated with Cloudron. At this moment, Telegram is being censored in Brazil due to a court order claiming that Telegram is not cooperating with investigations by not providing complete user data. Currently, the only way to bypass this censorship is by using proxies or VPNs. By adding MTProto to Cloudron, you would allow Brazilian users running a Cloudron instance to create free proxies so that non-technical people can overcome the absurd censorship we are facing. There is already a ready-to-use Docker image at https://hub.docker.com/r/telegrammessenger/proxy, which I imagine would allow the Cloudron team to quickly add this new app. Please contribute to our fight against censorship and for freedom! And thank you for creating and maintaining Cloudron. There is also a strong alternative to Telegram, Session: https://getsession.org Or Berty: https://berty.tech/ Session is a strong choice for privacy and soon will support Lokinet, which is like a fast, low-latency TOR over which you can stream video. Berty uses IPFS (Inter Planetery File System). Both are designed with privacy in mind. The team behind Session, Oxen, are about to start an alternative to VPNs using Lokinet: https://oxen.io/blog/lokinet-exit-marketplace-design

@LoudLemur said in Rath - Automated data exploratory analysis and visualization tools.: I am a bit mystified by this: "beyond open-source alternative " It means it does much more than the software it is an alternative for. It actually fills a large gap in that space.

Funnily enough, found this through their Android calendar app I'm now using by default. Now it would be nice to try with their end to end encrypted solution.

@jdaviescoates The repo just got an update last week, though just a minor bug fix, so I guess they're working hard on version 2 but it shows the project is active

@marcusquinn Yes, it would be grand to share at least one of these implementations on Cloudron to bridge the two.

@robw My experience was the opposite. I don't think you need any of the paid Espo stuff - although it is certainly good to support developers. SuiteCRM still looks like a legacy interface, and slow. If you haven't got into Espo Entity Manager, then you're missing out on some rapid capability. Only thing I can see SuiteCRM doing is showing that Espo is faster and easier. Rocket Chat I don't recommend any more, much prefer Nextcloud Talk. Open Project is good, but Espo can do everything that OP can. Phabricator is abandonware. Jitsi is great, but I think their public service is just fine for most. UCS is the only free Linux alternative to Active Directory I know of, so useful for that. Clunky though. Going back to Espo, I paid for all their add-ons but don't really need or use any of them. Get into Entity Manager and you can do everything already with that. DM me and I'll share a link to what we've done with it. I think you'll see why you couldn't get anywhere near the capability with SuiteCRM.
