PTR / Gmail
-
Hope this is not a FAQ : I have checked what I can
My Cloudron instance reports correct config (green tick) for domains in Cloudron for email setup.
But Gmail has started rejecting inbound emails to gmail address as “not matching the sending domain”.Checking in MX Lookup also is fine.
My Cloudron instance is on Hetzner, and seems ok (famous last words).
How can I persuade Gmail that PTR is correct ?
Sending from domains to other addresses works fine.

I guess thus might be relevant
or the corresponding forward DNS entry does not match the sending IP
Not understanding what extra DNS config needs to be setup

@timconsidine this is the post you are looking for:

Most likely you need to sort out your IPv6 PTR etc.

Thank you !
I don’t use IPV6 but will check it out -

It seems that M$ and GOOG are forcing us all to do so if we want to email people who use their email services (which of course we all do as that's the vast majority of people).

Made changes, waiting for propagation before re-testing

Fingers crossed that’s working
Thank you again !

Even if you don't have IPv6 activated.on Cloudron but that your server network interface has IPv6 activated, then Google uses IPv6 for emails...it's confused a hell of a lot of us
