Not fully familiar with SB's architecture in terms of self hosting - Want to say it has several components that make it cumbersome to package for cloudron

Is that the case? Usually there is some discourse on limitations or stop blocks

      i see the references but...?

A friend of mine has just started working at supabase so I've just directed them here in the hope they can help get this packaged...

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

I would also be interested in seeing Supabase on Cloudron

I saw Supabase on coolify, but I didn't try it. Supabase is indeed a popular app (open source alternative to Firebase).

From everything I have learned in the past weeks, it might be difficult to run this on Cloudron, though. But as a database alternative, Cloudron supports Postgres via Cloudron addons, which might also be worth a try.

Upvoting (the main post) and commenting for engagement, even though it looks like voting for things here doesn't really seem to make a difference.

@umnz important to upvote so thanks.

Also important to remember that packaging can be complex. So takes time. I’ve looked at packaging Supabase a couple of times and it’s definitely in the “non-trivial” category.

For myself, and maybe for lots of others, Parse is as good as supabase for 80-90% of needs, and is easier to package. Maybe will release my package for Parse Server this weekend

@umnz supabase has a lot of options and so many services running. It would be hard to combine the one-click app approach of cloudron and managing the complexity of supabase. You can take a look at coolify, there are pre-made templates where you have full control of the application.

Coolify uses docker compose, cloudron doesn't. Cloudron requires to package an app into one container, and from what I have seen with Supabase, this is difficult.
