I would like to move my cloudron to a new server. I have installed Cloudron using the same version 8.2.4 and I tried to upload the backup configuration. However, I get the error "could not determine mount failure reason". I use Hetzner storage box.

Any idea how I could troubleshoot this as the error message doesn't give me much to work with?

Not sure about the mount thing, but whilst installing did you click on the option to restore? Because that's what you want to do if not.

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

Yes, I did - after installing, you enter cloudron in the browser and then there's the button to restore. There I uploaded my backup configuration from the other server.

@ekevu123 can you manually mount the storage box via ssh according to hetzner docs? Just to rule out some failure angles.

Yes, I can, I have mounted it successfully on other devices.

Also, just to be sure, I am assuming that I don't have to mount the Hetzner storage box first, but Cloudron will do that for me during restore? Or is that not the case?

Furthermore, as a workaround, I would be willing to install cloudron fresh and then move the app backups separately, if needed, but I don't know how I would access my emails. Except for using imapsync, of course, but that would really be if needed as I reckon the cloudron restore process should actually be smoother by design.

@ekevu123 I've always found the process to be ridiculously smooth myself (apart from when I forget to click on that restore link and have to start again!)

Out of interest: how have you got your Hetzner Storage Box mounted?

I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

@ekevu123 correct Cloudron should mount this, based on the restore information you provided. Maybe double check that and also try to enter it manually, in case the backup config json file is used has a bug. While attempting to restore you should be able to see more detailed info, why the mounting fails in the system logs via journalctl --system in an SSH session.

@jdaviescoates Well, on the new server, I haven't - that was my question, whether Cloudron restore will do that. But I would use SSH.

Anyway, I will investigate the server logs and then report back.

If you manage to the storage box mounted manually, you may also restore from the mountpoint option using that manually mounted storage's mountpoint.

I can't follow, how exactly do I do that?

The logs here don't show me anything regarding me trying to restore.

It worked after I have reset my ssh keys and entered a new one during restoring.
