    @micmc you make valid points

    My scenario : I refuse to use Paypal, as a vendor and as a customer, because some (many now) years go, I had a problem with Paypal because I received a large payment into my account which was a lot bigger than I normally did, and came from a "dodgy" country, they blocked my account and access to funds. Nearly lost £7k. But I appreciate that's maybe a personal beef, not a strategic analysis.

    There are many who are totally content (blissfully ignorant as to the dangers of using Paypal, I would say), so system providers need to take it into account, as you say.

    I guess maybe there's an element of selfhost vs HateBigMonopolisticTech in the decision ?

    I mean, along the years one have stop counting the amount of horror story the same kind in the like of yours.
    That said, I believe that it should be a matter of choice to use PP or not, that should remain in the hand of the app user. Though, making available inho is less of a choice for an app dev, to reach the largest possible audience.
    That said, my comment was a matter of strategy indeed, I'm in no way a particular PP supporter at all. Nope. I use it on some apps, but on some others not. Though, I've learned along the way what is IMPORTANT with PP to make it work as seamlessly as possible is COMMUNICATION. As in making them AWARE before hit, for example, to make a story short.

      @micmc @timconsidine maybe I misunderstood the question here. To be clear, SeoSamba/SeoToaster POS works with Stripe as a processor. This means that as a merchant your proceeds will go to your Stripe account. Stripe however allows for hundreds of different payment methods for your clients to use online, including paypal: https://stripe.com/payments/payment-methods AND in addition, we also offer dozens of other payment gateways that you can combine with, including again a direct PayPal connection, on your website. When it comes to the POS itself, in presence payments will require a valid debit/credit card (including debit card issued by Paypal to their customers) or cash. Please let me know if it makes sense or something remains unclear.

                  Hi @timconsidine @robi and gang. We added support for a client facing screen, tips, and QR reviews on the POS app, and an agentic business worker on the CRM side. Thanks to all the signals we get from web traffic through social clicks or phone calls analysis, the CRM identifies accounts according to your organization role and prepare communications. It performs better than SalesForce or Hubspot in my opinion. Please let me know if I can do anything to help with the release on Cloudtron!

                    Hello @elephant
                    Maybe you want to publish your app in the Cloudron Community App Store?

                      Thanks for your suggestion @james . While I appreciate that this a way an alternative way to make our app available to the Cloudtron community, we invested quite some time to facilitate the inclusion in the official directory building and maintaining (new release twice a year, next in September) the package at the suggestion of @humptydumpty over the past couple of years, then @timconsidine mentioned back last in February that he was going to take care of it, so Im still hopeful.

                      Given that our entire app ecosystem can also be affordably rebranded by hosting and solution providers or agencies of virtually any size—from a one-person team in Texas to a large media group like Vocento in Spain—to create new revenue streams, I think having validation through the official app store is important for us to be credibly considered by the Community.
                      Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate everyone is busy, and I understand we’re small fry in the grand scheme of things. But hosted independently via Cloudron, our package offers a much more comprehensive alternative to Shopify, for example—not just ecommerce, but also a CRM, a more innovative Point of Sale, and a very mature and stable open-source CMS stack. Lots of folks are frustrated by Shopify limitations, so there's a good opportunity in this IMHO.
                      On top of that, we’ve now added a full suite of marketing tools, including automated SEO and AEO with schema and content generation, as well as autonomous marketing that fully works with WordPress as well.
                      If anyone wants to see it in action, you can open a free account here in 10 mins and within an hour you have a complete month of highly relevant blog and social content ready to publish: https://mojo.seosamba.com/register.html . Just connect a Google or Facebook profile with reviews to test LocalEko. I find what it can do quite astonishing, really and its actually better as you connect more channels like call tracking from the platform.
                      For many small businesses, SeoToaster Ultimate delivers a tremendous amount of value in a single, largely open and independently hostable platform, built by a small team without VC backing, many of whom are still based in Ukraine, while offering partners a competitive business model. A win over big tech and big money, in my book. Would love to be given the light of day by Cloudtron and its community.
