App Idea: ActivityPub enabled git platform

Think about it. Gitea but federated. Something like this would enable people to host their own servers while also following projects on other instances. This would also have some interesting implications for collaboration for those who self host.
I have 0 experience with activitypub or federated services but if anyone wants to work on this or give it a shot I think it would be a worthy project. What do you guys think?

@atrilahiji I actually came across something like this not too long ago, Radicle, which seems to be like what you're talking about I think. Might be worth looking into.

This is the aim of the forgefed initiative. A sort of working group for a spec for federated git forges such as Gitea.
Forgefed seems promising. Going to keep an eye on this one
