    I need to create a number of forms along the line of an application form for a position. So not just a regular newsletter name/email signup. And I want the responses to be "in a system", not forwarded by email, so they are in one place.

    I've installed LimeSurvey, but it's a beast, slow to design forms and massive over-kill.

    As Cloudron doesn't yet support a lightweight Forms app (nudge nudge), does anyone have a recommendation for an opensource app that can installed in a Cloudron LAMP app ?

    Many thanks

    @timconsidine I've not tried it yet, but maybe KoboToolbox would fit your needs? Or perhaps try installing OhMyForm.

    There are also lots of WordPress form plugins, one of which is likely to meet your needs.

    I use Cloudron with Gandi & Hetzner

        @jdaviescoates thanks

        KoboToolbox looks interesting but like OhMyForm, they favour Docker.
        Embarrassingly my Docker knowledge & familiarity is poor. I must rectify that somehow.

        I see someone has packaged OhMyForm but I am not sure how to go about installing an unofficial app (not from Cloudron).

          @girish good question ! That's part of what I'm struggling with.

          I was using https://formtools.org/ and was happy with core functionality, but while their website has been freshened, the UI for the app is very dated and a bit clumsy. So not sure I would recommend it.

          Let me research a bit more, and see if I can suggest something.

              @robi Thanks
              The focus in on form building, and there are a ton of those around.
              They seem to miss the form hosting & response collection.
              Unless it is I who is missing something.

                @timconsidine I've only used this plugin to create a simple product helper once but it might fit your needs since you can customize it any way you want. It's a paid plugin ($44 USD) on Envato: https://codecanyon.net/item/wp-cost-estimation-payment-forms-builder/7818230

                  @timconsidine Can you simply integrate LimeSurvey which we already have on Cloudron?

                  Otherwise there's things like:
                  https://github.com/tellform/tellform
                  https://www.orbeon.com/
                  https://form.io/

                    I installed Limesurvey but find it unusable.
                    It works. It's just ugly, slow, overly complex and totally over-spec'ed, useless import options.
                    I guess it's a good solution for some use cases. But not mine sadly.

                    Thanks for the other options. Will check them out.

                      I think I found my solution : Budibase ! (see App wishlist)
                      Will look into packaging it, but never done it, so don't hold your breath.

                        @timconsidine there's also https://github.com/surveyjs/survey-library but it's more a library than an app.

                          @girish surveyjs looks great.
                          It can certainly help with some projects/use cases.
                          But think I will pursue Budibase as the more complete design/host/collect responses solutions.
                          Got it working (easily after stupid error on my side) and will look at putting on a VPS. Would rather it is in Cloudron, but not sure I am competent enough to build it as custom app. Maybe will have a bash.
